Abstract
This study aimed at analyzing the type of Hedonism on characters represented in Orang Kaya Baru movie by Joko Anwar. This study using descriptive qualitative method on findings and developing the scenes of the main characters (Ibu, Tika, Duta, and Dodi) that showed the Hedonism indication. By using Weijer (2012) theory about hedonism, it was found that there were 20 statements and utterances indicated Hedonism. From those 20 data, 2 indicated the Folk Hedonism which is (10%) of the found data, 3 from Value and Prudential Hedonism (15%) of the findings, 2 again as Motivational Hedonism (10%) again of the findings, and 13 as Normative Hedonism which is (65%). Therefore, according to these findings, Normative Hedonism was the most dominant type of hedonism found in the movie. Normative hedonism which divided by Egoistic and Utilitarianism has been the type of hedonism that showed from middle to the ending of the film. Thus, the tools, the method, and the theory were distributed properly to give any given information from the movie and can be applied to real life indication of hedonism.
