Abstract
The attempt of the study was to develop webtoon as the media of learning
narrative text for XI grade students at SMA Swasta Eria Medan. This study was
conducted by using research and development (R&D) and ADDIE model was
used in this study through five stages; analyzing, designing, developing,
implementing, and evaluating. The subject of the study was eleventh grade
students of SMA Swasta Eria Medan. Administering interview to English teacher
and students. Then, distributing questionnaire to 31 respondents to get the
students’ need were gathered as the data. The interview and questionnaire result
stated that students need webtoon as the media of learning narrative text can help
students improve their skills and make it easier for them to grasp narrative text,
write in their own version, and improve the tenses they use, along with maximise
their use of devices to access webtoon. Webtoon media has been validated by
experts with percentage was 92%. The product was categorized as “Very Valid”.
