DEVELOPING MERDEKA BELAJAR LESSON PLAN IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT BASED ON SCIENTIFIC APPROACH FOR SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS AT MTsN 2 MEDAN

The purpose of this study is to develop a Merdeka Belajar lesson plan in writing descriptive text based on scientific approach for seventh grade students at MTsN 2 Medan. The researcher applied the Research and Development technique in this study, and the data was collected through documentation, observations, and interviews. The data was gathered by conducting interviews with English teachers and reviewing the existing lesson plan. The lesson plan was created using a scientific approach. There were two experts, an English lecturer and an English teacher that have validated the Merdeka Belajar lesson plan. The researcher's lesson plan was graded as "Very Good" with a score of 81, 65. Overall, the researcher's lesson plan is appropriate for teaching writing descriptive text to seventh grade students.
