Abstract

The scope of the study is limited to the techincal, pedagogical and professional
challenges and also the opportunities of online english teaching such as Difficulty
of Preparing a Google Classroom, Difficulty of Evaluation and Collection of the
Homework. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative research inteded to
describe The Challenges and Opportunities of Online English Teaching During
The Pandemic of COVID-19 at SMA Negeri 3 Binjai. The informant of this
research is English Teacher at SMA Negeri 3 Binjai. total number of English
teacher at SMA Negeri 3 Binjai is 2 teachers The instrument that researcher
applied in this research are interview and questioner. The result of the study
shown that there are some positive and negative challenges found in online
teaching and learning such as technical, pedagogical and professional challenges
and the opportunities of online english teaching such as Difficulty of Preparing a
Google Classroom, Difficulty of Evaluation and Collection of the Homework.
