Abstract
This study aims to determine the influence of the STECS (Science
Technology Ecocultural Society) Learning Model on the student’s eco critical thinking skills SMA PAB 8 Saentis. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest control group design. The sample was be done by using cluster random sampling technique. The samples in this study consisted of two classes, namely class X-1 as experimental class with STECS Learning Model and class X-2 as control class with Direct Learning Model. Data was collected by interview and test. The research instruments used the test instrument of the result of eco critical thinking skill by using essay test, and instrument data analysis technique using prerequisite test (normality test and homogeneity test) and hypothesis test. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the STEcS learning model has
an influence on students' eco critical thinking skills. This is supported by the results of the paired sample t-test analysis, which yielded a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant impact of applying the STECS learning model on the eco critical thinking skills among students in biology lessons, specifically on environmental topics, at SMA PAB 8 Saentis. Further analysis of the data reveals that the mean score for students who received the treatment with the STECS learning model was 81.94, whereas the mean score for students in the control class was 68.89. Hence, students who were exposed to the STECS learning model exhibited higher eco critical thinking skills compared to those in the control class
