Abstract
To improve students' mathematical communication skills and foster a sense of love for culture, teachers must always innovate learning. One way to do this is by applying ethnomathematics in learning. This research aims to (1)
determine whether the quality of RME-based LKPD with ethnomathematics nuances meets the aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness, and (2) obtain
an increase in students' mathematical communication skills after learning using RME-based LKPD with ethnomathematics nuances. The method used in this research is the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research were
students in class VII-6 of SMP Negeri 41 Medan. The research results obtained are: (1) LKPD with a realistic mathematical approach with nuances of ethnomathematics developed has met the validity criteria of the validator with an average percentage of LKPD validation for material experts of 4.33 and media
experts of 4.28 with a very feasible category ( SL) The developed ethnomathematics has met the effectiveness criteria, namely (a) student learning outcomes meet classical learning completeness of 86.66%, (b) the average individual learning completeness is 880.03, which means that th indicator/completeness of learning objectives has been achieved, (c ) learning time using LKPD is the same as normal learning time, also positive student responses, and (d) students' mathematical communication skills after using LKPD have increased from the average pretest score of 48.44 to 88.23 on the average posttest score and The results of the N-Gain analysis show that students' mathematical communication skills have increased by 0.7 in the high category.
