Abstract
This study was aimed to describe the application of Bloom's Taxonomy
in the English textbook entitled "Think Globally Act Locally" this
textbook was written by Siti Wachidah, Asep Gunawan, and Diyantri.
This book was published by the ministry of culture and education of
Indonesia. This study applied the descriptive qualitative research. The
object of this research is the textbook for grade IX of junior high school.
The instrument of the data of this research was the checklist. The
researcher analyzed the data to get the information about how the
Bloom's Taxonomy is applied in this textbook. The result showed that
the most dominant level applied is the remembering level for 81,2%. The
understanding level is applied for 0,77%, the applying level for 12,03%,
the analyzing level for 1,16%, the evaluating level for 4,07%, and
creating level for 0,77%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Bloom's
Taxonomy emphasized in this textbook is not equal for each domain.
Also by that, it can be concluded that there are several domains that
appear mostly in the textbook and also there are some more domains that
appear less than the other domains.
