Abstract
The study deals with Sociolinguistics of social conflict in Mandailing wedding ceremony into Verbal Representation. In this study the researcher focusses on to find the social conflicts in Karl Marx theories found between upper class and lower class in Mandailing wedding ceremony and to explain the why the social conflicts occur in the process of marriage Mandailing especially in the dowry negotiations. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The source of the data were from the negotiation event, there are 100 data, in negotiations of the dowry, recording and also interviewed two informants who were known as Raja Adat. The findings ofthis research were 4 kinds of types of social conflict there are: (1). Power, (2). Capitalist Societies, (3). Wealth, (4). Prestige and 4 Aspect There Were (1). Education, (2). Social Status, (3). Descendant and (4). Position. Then the dominant types is power about (41%). The types and aspects that were used on mandailing weddingceremony have different meaningcome from the different background and social status like education, so the dominant types for this research is power, because the utterances of the participant in negotiation event conclude the power types.
