This study uses descriptive qualitative in the form of literature review in the Digital Library of State University of Medan. The data analysis technique used is the data analysis technique of Miles and Huberman, which consists of the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis obtained are: (1) The use of the Problem Based Learning learning model is effectively used in improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of this analysis are seen from the differences in the pre-test and post-test scores of students who have increased. (2) The effect of using Problem Based Learning learning model on students' critical thinking skills, it was found that students' critical thinking skills could increase after using Problem Based Learning.
