Abstract
This study aims to 1) describe the effect of Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills in mathematics learning carried out in previous studies, 2) describe the meta-synthesis of article journal of the effect of Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills in mathematics learning. This research is qualitative research. The subject of this study were article journals regarding the effect of problem-based learning models on critical thinking skills in mathematics learning in 2011-2020. The object of this study is the achievement of students' critical thinking skills after being tested with problem-based learning. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display, and make conclusions/verification. The results of the analysis obtained are: 1) the Problem-Based Learning model can increase the critical thinking ability in mathematics learning that can be seen in indicators of critical thinking ability, 2) meta-Synthesis provides an inclusive description of the effect of a problem-based learning model on critical thinking skills.
