Abstract
This study aims to 1) Plan and design an electric furnace with furnace room dimension of 260mm x 170mm x 160mm, 2) Plan and design an effective and efficient crocontroller-based heating system, and 3) Analyze the energy efficiency of the electric furnace. An electric furnace with dimensions of 260mm x 170mm x 160mm has been successfully manufactured with a heating capability of up to 1200 C, the electric furnace can heat a relatively
low average power (±2200 Watt) than the electric furnace available in the market. The electric furnace combustion
chamber coating material used has been known to be very efficient based on the wasted heat transfer rate from
the electric furnace combustion chamber which is very small at the maximum temperature (4.55 W). Based on the
heat generation method, furnace is broadly classified into two types namely combustion type (using fuel) and
electric type
