Abstract
This study aimed to describe content validity of English summative test in connection with learning indicators in odd semester and even semester and to find out reliability of English summative test items in odd semester and even semester. The researcher used descriptive qualitative design. The data in this study was 35 test items consist of 30 multiple choice and 5 essay. The technique of collecting data in this study was document analysis. The researcher described the conformity and inconformity of the English summative test and interpreted the conformity and inconformity level by using Arikunto’s criteria. The reliability was measured by using Kuder-Richardson (Kr-20) and The Cronbanch Alpha.
The findings of this study showed that English summative test that was administered in odd semester was 29% valid in terms of conformity with learning indicators. Then, the English summative test that was administered in even semester was 54% valid in terms of conformity with learning indicators. The reliability of the English summative test form multiple choice in odd semester was 0.83 coefficient and essay form was -0.36 coefficient. Then, the reliability of the English summative test form multiple choice in even semester was 0.69 coefficient and essay form -1.62 coefficient. From the study finding, it can be concluded that the test was not valid and reliable. It means that the test still needs some revision and improvement to be good, valid, and reliable test.
