Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang menariknya tampilan LKS pada umumnya, kegiatan belajar masih berpusat pada guru/verbalistik, dan kurangnya penggunaan LKS dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu a) Mengembangkan LKS (Lembar Kerja Siswa) Berbasis Layout Majalah Pada Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Materi Sumpah Pemuda di Kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Binjai dan b) Melihat Kelayakan LKS (Lembar Kerja Siswa) Berbasis Layout Majalah Pada Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Materi Sumpah Pemuda di Kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Binjai. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan dari Borg and Gall yang terdiri dari tujuh tahapan yaitu: (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) perencanaan penelitian, (3) pengembangan format produk awal dan validasi desain, (4) uji coba awal, (5) revisi produk, (6) uji coba lapangan, dan (7) revisi produk. Setelah diuji cobakan, maka dapat diketahui bahwa hasil penelitian mengenai kelayakan LKS (Lembar Kerja Siswa) Berbasis Layout Majalah mendapatkan nilai 91% (termasuk kriteria sangat valid) baik uji coba awal maupun lapangan/luas dan mampu menarik perhatian siswa untuk belajar pembelajaran sejarah.
