Abstract
This study focused on finding out the cultural values of Batak Toba. The objectives of this study were to find out the cultural values of Batak Toba, to describe the realization of cultural values in the wedding ceremony and the reason of cultural values of Batak Toba realization in the ways are. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data were 43 utterances that were taken from Hula-hula utterances in two videos wedding ceremony of Batak Toba. The findings of this research were nine cultural values of Batak Toba was containing kinship 16%, religion 21%, extended family 14%, respect 14%, wealth 5%, modernization 5%, justice 5%, nurture 9%, and conflict 12%. The most dominant cultural values of Toba Batak is religion 21%. The cultural values of Batak Toba in the wedding ceremony were realized verbally and non-verbal. The reasons of the realization of cultural values in the wedding ceremony to ask blessing from God, to show solidarity, respect, mutual help, kindness, welfare and justice.
