Abstract
This research have purpose to know the effect of Inquiry Training learning model on student’s learning outcomes on work and energy topic in class X SMA N 1 Perbaungan A.Y. 2018/2019. This research is quasi experimental group pretest-postest design. Population in this research are whole students of SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan class X science second semester academic year 2018/2019 which totally 2 classes so that class X Science-3 as control class and class XI science-2 as experiment class each consists of 36 students. The instrument was used to get data is multiple choice test which contains of 20 questions and had been validated by some experts in Physics.
Based on the result of research obtained the mean pretest of experiment class is 36,11with the standard deviation 8,46 and the mean pretest of control class is 34,31 with the standard deviation 8,03. After doing normality test and homogenity test, data of pretest from both of sample was normal distribution and homogeneous. From the result of hypothesis test by t test two-tail on significant level α = 0,05 get that both of sample have the same initial ability. Then after given the treatment for experiment class using inquiry training learning model and control class using the conventional learning, so the result of mean postest of experiment class is 75,69 with standard deviation 8,95 and mean postest of control class 69,86 with the standard deviation 10,31. The result of hypothesis test for t-test one tail get that H0 rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there is the effect of Inquiry Training learning model on student’s learning outcomes on work and energy topic in class X SMA N 1 Perbaungan A.Y. 2018/2019. The result of student’s learning activity by using Inquiry Training learning model of research have increase every meet and has the good category.
