Abstract
This research aims to analyse the student’s learning difficulties on classification subject matter and several factors that affected it in SMP Al Washliyah Ampera II Medan academic year 2017-2018. The population in this research is taken from 40% of total VII grade students population as many as 92 students. Data collection instruments in this study using test and questionnaire given to all sampels. Research results show kinds of learning difficulties faced by the students on classification subject matter which can be seen from cognitive aspects. Based on Bloom’s taxonomy by C1-C6, the level of learning difficulties of students in SMP Al Washliyah Ampera II in each cognitive aspect ranged from very low difficulty category to very high difficulty category. In sequence, the average percentage are 21,47% in C1, 32,66% in C2, 49,46% in C3, 55,44% in C4, 78,66% in C5, and 88,39% in C6. The percentage of student’s learning difficulties from five learning indicators ranged form high difficulty category to very high difficulty category, where the average percentage are 36,96% in the the first indicators, 40,09% in the second indicator, 60,60% in the third indicator, 40,58 in the fourth indicator, and 49,46% in the fifth indicator. Several factors that affected to students learning difficulties in learning classification subject matter which belong to very influental category are teacher, learning activity, the nature of topic, motivation, interest, learning habit and learning resource is in less affected category.
