Abstract

This research is motivated learning difficulties are often experienced by students of Mechanical Engineering Education Universitas Negeri Medan. In the course of
the lecture on the Kinematics and Engineering Dynamics the students sometimes have difficulty in mastering the lesson. Difficulty learning is a disorder in one or
more psychological processes that include understanding.
This research is quantitative descriptive research that aims to organize and process the data results of questionnaires by scoring, in order to give an overview
on a regular basis, concise, and clear about a situation that can be withdrawn certain sense or meaning.
From the research that has been conducted Mechanical Engineering Education Medan State University to determine the level of difficulty of student learning in the realm of cognitive abilities with a grain questionnaire objectively given obtained the fact that the students of the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan with learning difficulties in the course Kinematics and
Dynamics Engineering is based on percentages given in the focus groups and showed that 67.3% of personal self factors, physical factors and health 53.8%, 44.5% leisure time, education and the lessons of 47.7% and 47.7% from the family relationship data may be concluded that, factors affecting student learning difficulties more dominant comes from the Personal namely 67.3%. While the
factors that most low comes from Freetime is 44.5%. Failure of students to achieve minimum mastery above the limit value caused by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors come from the students themselves can be tested through a student's level of understanding of the material presented by the lecturer. External factors are factors outside of themselves students are from the neighborhood. The high percentage of students who did not complete due to such factors that affect student results.
