THE ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' LEARNING DIFFICULTIES ON STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF ANIMAL TISSUE TOPIC IN GRADE XI MIA (SCIENCE) AT SMA NEGERI 1 PERBAUNGAN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018

The objective of this study is to know the level of students’ learning difficulty based on cognitive and indicator aspect of Structure and Function of Animal Tissue Topic and the factor influences it could happen. This study belongs to descriptive research and was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan. The population is all of the students in grade XI MIA (Science) at SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan that consists of 4 classes. The sampling method is purposive which is 50 student from 4 classes who have difficulty on this topic taken as a sample. The data on students' learning achievement is taken by using a multiple choice test (30 items), while the factor influences learning difficulty is taken by closed typed questionnaire and an interview. The result found that the student's achievement was less than minimum score (KKM) and confirmed that the difficulty found on structure and function of the animal tissue topic. The difficulty based on cognitive: remembering (49.2%) and understanding (49.5%) on a moderate level. While the difficulty in applying (62.6%), analyzing (71.2%), evaluating (67.5%), and creating (73%) in high level. The difficulty based on indicator: first indicator (59.4%), a second indicator (45%) and third indicator (56.7%) in moderate level. While the difficulty at fourth indicator (68.5%), fifth indicator (72.5%) and sixth indicator (72.5%). Then, the factors influenced learning difficulty were seven factors include learning habit, motivation, teacher, and learning activity influence at the moderate level and learning source, interest, and the nature of the topic influence at the high level.
