Abstract
The aim of this study was to find out the idiomatic expression in malay labuhanbatu wedding ceremony. This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected by applying documentary and interview technique, this study applied the theory of Charles F Hockectt to analyzed the types of idiomatic expression in Malay Labuhanbatu Wedding Ceremony, Charles Hocket divided the types of idiomatic expression into 5 types, Proper Names, Abbreviation, English Phrasal Compounds, Figure of Speech and the theory of Abdul Chaer to analyzed the applying of Idiomatic expression in malay labuhanbatu wedding ceremony. After analyzing the data, there are 32 Idiomatic Expression found in Malay Labuhanbatu Wedding Ceremony and there are only two types of Idiomatic expression found in Malay Labuhanbatu Wedding Ceremony, they are Figure of Speech (64,7 %) and Proper Names (35,3 %), Idiomatic Expression in Malay Labuhanbatu Wedding ceremony applied in two forms of Idiom there are Pure Idiom and Semi Idioms.
