SLANG WORDS USED IN COT DOGOL MOVIE

The research was found on the topic about Slang Words in Cot Dogol Movie. This study was aimed at identifying the types of Slang Word, to elaborate the linguistic process of slang word and to investigate the reason for the dominant tye. This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative method. The source of data was taken from the conversation of Cot Dogol movie. The technique for analyzing the data is descriptive qualitative research based on Ary. The results of this research were types of Slang Word in Cot Dogol movie which were Public House Slang (5.5 %), Workmen’s Slang (23.6 %), and Society Slang (70,8%). There were seven ways to form slang word found in Cot Dogol Movie, there were, Coinage, Borrowing, Compounding, Blending, Conversion, and Multiple Process.The reason why Society slang become dominant type in Cot Dogol Movie because the place and the actor of the movie.
