Abstract
The research was to determine the level of students learning difficulity in the subject matterial of viruses that in terms of cognitive, learning indicators and causal factors. The method used is the analysis of the causes of diagnostic tests students learning difficulities. The study design was descriptive quantitative. The population in his study were all students of class X SMA in Rantau Selatan district. Samples were taken by total sampling as many as 143 students who take one class each of the four school of SMA in Rantau Selatan districts. The research research instrument is a diagnostic test objective and questionnaire. Data were analyzed by percentage technique. The results showed : (1) the percentage of the level of difficulity on each students learning about the cognitive aspects of C1,C2,C3,C4,C5 and C6 respectively by 43.05%, 48.15% , 49.36%, 50.17% , 61.54%, 69.93% ; (2) the percentage of each indicator about the difficulity of learning the subject matterial of viruses include: (1) identify the body structure of viruses by 42.24% (2) dissimilarity of viruses structure with other organisms is 53.03% (3) describe the phases of the viruses replication of 53.72% , (5) describe the advantage of viruses for life of 56.64 % (5) communicate how to avoid the risk of viruses infect like influenza, AIDS, avian virus, etc. of 50,7%; and (3) the causes that support students learning difficulities ie physical, phycological, parents, biology teacher, subject matter and school environment. Concluded that there are learning difficulties of students in the subject matter of Virusses in class X SMA in the Rantau Selatan of Learning 2017/2018.
