Abstract

Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaian masalah matematika masih tergolong kurang. Selama ini, proses pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan guru di dalam kelas masih cenderung berpusat pada guru dengan hanya menggunakan metode ceramah dan pemberian tugas serta kurang memotivasi siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Guru juga kurang melibatkan siswa aktif dalam belajar matematika terutama dalam memecahkan masalah matematika di dalam kelas.Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa menggunakan strategi berbasis masalah pada materi pecahan dengan kompetensi dasar mengubah pecahan ke bentuk persen, desimal dan sebaliknya, serta menjumlahkan dan mengurangkan berbagai bentuk pecahan di kelas V SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia T.A. 2011/2012. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan selama 2 siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini siswa kelas V SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia tahun ajaran 2011/2012 sebanyak 1 kelas yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar matematika dalam bentuk soal uraian dan lembar format observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan selama 2 bulan mulai Januari hingga Maret 2012.Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi pecahan siklus I sebesar 7,25 dan secara klasikal sebanyak 19 orang (63,3%) siswa dinyatakan berhasil dengan memperoleh nilai ≥ 6,5. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II, hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi pecahan meningkat menjadi rata-rata 8,57 dan secara klasikal sebanyak 27 orang (90%) siswa yang dinyatakan berhasil dengan memperoleh nilai ≥ 6,5. Aktivitas peneliti selama proses pembelajaran sudah tergolong baik sekali atau aspek yang diamati berdasarkan format lembar observasi yang ada seluruhnya (100%) telah dilaksanakan.Berdasarkan hasil temuan penelitian selama 2 siklus dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi pecahan dengan kompetensi dasar mengubah pecahan ke bentuk persen, desimal dan sebaliknya, serta menjumlahkan dan mengurangkan berbagai bentuk pecahan di kelas V SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia T.A. 2011/2012. Sebagai tindak lanjut diharapkan kepada guru untuk dapat menggunakan strategi berbasis masalah dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.
