Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sains kelas V dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share. Subjek penelitan adalah siswa kelas V SDN 106162 Medan Estate yang berjumlah 35 orang. Laki-laki 15 orang dan perempuan 20 orang. Adapun yang menjadi rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: apakah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan alat pencernaan pada manusia mata pelajaran sains bagi siswa kelas V SDN 106162 Medan Estate T.A 2012/2013.Penelitian ini adalah PTK yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, dimana dalam setiap siklusnya dilakukan dua kali pertemuan yang masing-masing pertemuan 35 menit. Jadi dalam 2 siklus ada 4 kali pertemuan yaitu selama 140 menit. Dalam setiap siklus dilakukan melalui 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelakasanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu berdasarkan hasil tes, wawancara, dan lembar observasi.Dari tes awal yang dilaksanakan kepada 35 siswa dari siklus I hingga siklus II diperoleh hasil yang terus meningkat. Dari setiap siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share lebih tinggi yakni sebesar 79,71 dengan ketuntasan 88,57%, sedangkan rata-rata sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share lebih rendah yakni sebesar 58,85 dengan ketuntasan hanya 28,50%. Maka dapat diketahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dibandingkan siklus I. Dengan demikian pada siklus II tidak perlu dilakukan perbaikan pengajaran untuk siklus berikutnya. Adapun data hasil obervasi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share adalah pada siklus I (bagi guru) yaitu persentase baik 63,3% dan kurang 30,77% dan (bagi siswa) persentase baik 62,5% dan kurang 37,3%. Sedangkan pada siklus II (bagi guru) yaitu persentase baik 92,31% dan kurang 7,69% dan (bagi siswa) persentase baik 99,13% dan kurang 1,25%.Dari hasil yang diperoleh dari 35 siswa, dapat dilihat bahwa setelah dilakukan tindakan kelas pada tiap siklusnya, terjadi peningkatan nilai. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran think pair share dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sains pokok bahasan alat pencernaan pada manusia SDN 106162 Medan Estate tahun ajaran 2012/2013
