Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) hasil belajar fisika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional; 2) aktivitas siswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional 3) perbedaan akibat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training terhadap hasil belajar siswa.Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII Semester II SMP Swasta An-Nizam Medan yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 3 kelas yaitu kelas VII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 35 orang dan kelas VII-C sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 35 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada dua yaitu: 1) tes hasil belajar 2) lembar observasi. Tes hasil belajar berbentuk tes esai sebanyak 12 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid oleh tim validator. Lembar observasi terdiri dari penilaian aktivitas, afektif dan keterampilan. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t.Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 34,65 dengan standar deviasi 13,1 dan nilai rata-rata postes 76,48 dengan standar deviasi 8,6. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata pretes 31,74 dengan standar deviasi 11,8 dan nilai rata-rata postes 68,34 dengan standar deviasi 8,6. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar di kelas eksperimen yaitu 70,94% dan pada kelas kontrol 60,87%, sehingga disimpulkan kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan aktivitas lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Peningkatan afektif siswa kelas eksperimen 62,20% dan kelas kontrol 57,60%, sehingga disimpulkan kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan afektif lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Perkembangan keterampilan siswa kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan, pada pertemuan I 69,05%, pertemuan II 70,94%, pertemuan III 72,84%. Jadi nilai rata-rata keterampilan siswa selama pembelajaran adalah 70,94% dengan kriteria aktif. Dari uji hipotesis diperoleh data postes bahwa thitung = 36,50 pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dan harga ttabel = 1,669. Sehingga thitung > ttabel (3,960 > 1,668) maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training pada materi kalor di kelas VII Semester II SMP Swasta An-Nizam T.P. 2013/2014
