Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think_Pair_Share (TPS) di kelas VIII-1 SMP Swasta Yapeksi Sawit Seberang Tahun Ajaran 2012/2013. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-1 dengan jumlah siswa 48 orang. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Yapeksi Sawit Seberang pada materi pokok Aljabar melaui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think_Pair_Share (TPS)Berdasarkan hasil observasi, aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I banyaknya siswa memiliki persentase aktivitas &#8805;70% secara klasikal adalah 2 orang siswa (5,26%) dan di akhir siklus II meningkat hingga mencapai 29 orang siswa (76,91%). Peningkatan setiap aspek aktivitas secra klasikal dari siklus I ke siklus II adalah bertanya 44,7%, menjawab pertanyaan sebesar 30,2%, berdiskusi sebesar 17,57%, dan mengemukakan pendapat sebesar 39,38%. Dari hasil siklus II diperoleh bahwa persentase aktivitas aktif siswa telah memenuhi yaitu : 70%&#8804;Persentase Aktivitas Siswa<85%. Hasil analisis tes hasil belajar yang diperoleh pada pelaksanaan tindakan I dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think_Pair_Share (TPS), hasil belajar siswa minimal sedang (&#8805;65%) secara klasikal belom tercapai karena hanya 50% siswa yang tuntas,engan nilai rata-rata kelas 70,05%. Setelah pelaksaan siklus II, hasil belajar siswa kategori minimal sedang (&#8805;65%) secara klasikal telah tercapai yaitu 86,84%, dengan nilai rat-rata 84,06.Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa besar peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 71,65%. Peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II adalah 36,84% Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelaran kooperatif tipe Think_Pair_Share (TPS) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Bagi guru matematika yang ingin menungkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar matematika siswa hendaknya menerapkan model kooperatif tipe Think_Pair_Share (TPS).
