Abstract
This study aims to develop a model of learning in order to form an attitude of independence and hard work, and improve student learning outcomes. The population around the class X SMA Negeri 14 Medan, amounting to 8 classes. Entire study sample class X consists of four experimental classes taken at random from the population. Before the first treatment performed pretest. Pretest and posttest questions used is a matter which has been valid and reliable (0.820). Student learning outcomes were measured with an instrument learning outcomes by using gain. Measurement of the formation of independence and hard work attitude of students used observation sheet that has divalidkan. Analysis using ANOVA two lanes at significant level α = 0.05. The hypothesis was tested by using General Linear Model Multivariate with SPSS version 19. The results showed that: (1) There is no significant effect of learning strategies on students independence attitude formation (sig. 0.832). (2) There is no significant effect of learning strategies on students hard work attitude formation (sig. 0.225). (3) There is no significant effect of learning strategies on improving student learning outcomes (sig. 0.233). (4) There is no significant effect of instructional media on the formation of independence attitude (sig. sig.0, 293) and the hard work of students (sig.0, 485). (5) There is a significant effect of instructional media to increase student learning outcomes (sig. 0.000). (6) There is interaction between learning strategy and instructional media attitudes towards the formation of students independence (sig. 0.000), the hard work of students (0,000) and improving student learning outcomes (sig. 0.000). (9) The most optimal learning model that can form the attitude of independence and hard work attitude of students is learning with problem-based learning strategies that are integrated with multimedia, (10) The most optimal learning model that can improve student learning outcomes is learning with problem-based learning strategies integrated with the mind map.
