FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KINERJA KEPALA SMP DI KOTA MEDAN

The objective of this research is to know the effect factors on performance of junior high school principals in Medan. Survey was applied in this research which data hadbeen analysed by path analysis after all variables put into a correlational matrix. In this research, leader’s of the junior high school have been choosen as unit analysis and 186 samples were selected randomly. The result of the research shows that principals performance is effected directly by motivation, authority and organizational commitment. It is also found that organizational commitment is effected by motivation and authority directly. Based on those findings it could be concluded that any change or variation which occurred at principals performance might have been effected by motivation, authority and organizational commitment. Therefore, in managing leaders performance, motivation, authority and organization commitment should be put into strategic planning of human resources development.
