Abstract
This study deals with the improvement of students’ achievement accounting through mind mapping. The subjects of this study were 40 students of class X-Accounting1 SMK Negeri 1 Rantau Utara. It was conducted to reach the target (1) repairing the student’s behavorial; (2) improving the student’s achievement at accounting subject; and (3) growing the students’ respond at accounting subject through mind mapping. This study was executed from 26 September 2010 until 23 November 2010. It’s conducted in two cycles. Each cycles was consisted of one meetings. Every cycle was consisted of planning step,action, observation and reflection. It’s designed with the mind mapping. The data collection was done by direct observation to measure’s students’ activity. The test was done to collect the data of improving students’ achievement in cognitive aspect and questionnaire used to collect the data of students’ response to mind mapping. The result of this study was obtained (1) the student’s activity through mind mapping showed that students have been the learning experience with the mind mapping. It’s indicated by the tendency of students’ percentage activity at cycle 1 to cycle 2; (2) the students’ achievement in learning increased namely at cycle one was 75% and at cycle two was 90%; and (3) students’ response was very positively (very like and hanker) to follow mind mapping learning.
