Developing Digital Worksheet in Reading Descriptive Text by Using QuizWizzer Application

This study aimed to develop a QuizWhizzer-based digital worksheet for teaching
reading descriptive text to Seventh Grade students at MTsN 2 Medan. The study
applied Research and Development (R&D) based on Borg and Gall’s model. The
data were collected through students’ needs analysis teacher interviews, students,
and two experts. The development process consisted of six stages. First, gathering
data and information through interviews and questionnaires revealed that students
needed more interactive reading activities because they had difficulties with
vocabulary and identifying main ideas and were motivated by QuizWhizzer with
visual elements and varied exercises. Second, analyzing the data to identify
students’ target needs, necessities, lacks, wants. Third, designing the QuizWhizzerbased
digital worksheet by selecting descriptive text materials, adding supporting
pictures, and creating various exercises. Fourth, validating the product through
expert validation. The results showed that the first expert gave a percentage score
of 85% and the second expert gave a percentage score of 82%, both categorized as
“very good”. Fifth, revising the product based on the experts’ suggestions, including
adding questions, improving the activity sequence, and providing titles and guiding
questions. Sixth, producing the final revised QuizWhizzer-based digital worksheet.
In conclusion, the developed worksheet was considered feasible and suitable for
teaching reading descriptive text and supporting a more interactive learning process.
