Developing Digital Worksheet Using ISL-Collective in Teaching Listening Narrative Text for Tenth Grade Students at SMAS Budisatrya Medan

This study aimed to develop and implement a digital worksheet using ISLCollective
for teaching listening skills on narrative texts, specifically fairy tales,
and to identify the English teacher’s challenges in using worksheets for listening
instruction. The research employed a research and development (R&D) design
adapted from the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development,
implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were tenth-grade students
at SMAS Budisatrya Medan, with a small group try-out involving five students.
Data were collected through classroom observation, teacher interviews,
questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed that the teacher faced
several challenges when using traditional printed worksheets, including students’
low motivation, limited interactivity, lack of immediate feedback, and high
dependence on teacher modeling, which hindered the implementation of student
centered learning as promoted by the Merdeka Curriculum. The try-out results
showed that the ISL-Collective digital worksheet received a very positive
response from students, with a score of 94%, categorized as “Very Good.” The
results indicate that the digital worksheet effectively supported listening
comprehension, increased student engagement, and provided better alignment
with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. Therefore, the ISL-Collective
digital worksheet can be considered an effective alternative for teaching listening
to narrative texts.
