Abstract

This study is aim to analyzing the implementation of the Project-Based Learning
(PjBL) model in teaching English speaking ability among ninth-grade students at
SMP Gajah Mada Medan. This study's research design is qualitative in type. The
research data comes from field notes, a camera recorder, a voice recorder, and an
observation and interview with an English teacher. The research focuses on how
two different teachers implement the eight stages of PjBL: choosing the project
topic, pre communicative activities, asking essential questions, designing the
project plan, creating a project timeline, finishing the project, assessing the
results, and evaluating the project. The research methodology is designed to
compare the pedagogical approaches of two teachers (Teacher 1 and Teacher 2) in
applying PjBL for procedure and narrative texts. The findings indicate that while
both teachers followed the general PjBL framework, there were significant
deviations and differences in their adherence to the structured syntax.
