Teachers Strategies in Overcoming Students Speaking Anxiety Through Project Based Learning At SMAN 3 Medan

This study aimed to analyze the strategies used by the teachers in overcoming
students speaking anxiety through project based learning at SMAN 3 Medan. The
type of research used was a descriptive qualitative study. The data were collected
through the observation of the teaching and interview with the teachers and
students. The findings of this study showed that the teachers used the strategies to
overcoming students speaking anxiety through project based learning by Lucas
(1984). This implementation created a safe learning environment and interesting
activities that support students to confident and active in speaking and overcome
anxiety in speaking English.
