Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang uji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) terhadap bakteri Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella typhi dengan menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan ekstrak andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Bacillus subtillis, dan Salmonella typhi. Buah andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96 %. Pada hasilekstraksi ini kemudian dilakukan uji fitokimia untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder yang ada pada buah andaliman. Hasil dari uji fitokimiamenunjukkan bahwa buah andaliman mengandung alkaloid, tannin, saponin, dan steroid. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri yang dilakukan dengan tiga konsentrasi 25 , 50 , dan 75 %. Uji aktivitas antibakteri terbaik ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji pada bakteri Salmonella typhi dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 75 % yang menghasilkan diameter zona bening sebesar 19 mm dan 20 mm.
