Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik fenotipe torbangun, dari segi morfologi, kandungan klorofil, trikoma dan stomata. Penelitian dilaksanakan di laboratorium Biologi, Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, dimulai Maret - Mei 2018 menggunakan torbangun asal Tigajuhar, Delitua, dan Kabanjahe. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik morfologi torbangun asal Tigajuhar, Delitua dan Kabanjahe berbeda pada karakter warna batang dan warna permukaan daun bagian atas. Kandungan klorofil daun torbangun paling rendah adalah klorofil torbangun asal Kabanjahe, sedangkan paling tinggi adalah klorofil torbangun asal Delitua. Tipe trikoma daun torbangun Tigajuhar, Delitua, dan Kabanjahe adalah sama yaitu tipe non glandular namun memiliki bentuk yang berbeda. Tipe stomata daun torbangun asal Tigajuhar, Delitua, Kabanjahe sama yaitu tipe cylolitic.
