USED OF EUPHEMISM IN “KEMBANG PADANG KELABU” NOVEL

The goal of this study was to identify the various euphemisms used in the Kembang Padang Kelabu novel. Textual research was used to conduct the study. The results showed that the Kembang Padang Kelabu novel had ten different
euphemisms identified by Allan and Burridge (1991).According to the findings of the study, figurative expression was the sort of euphemism that was used the most. The use of euphemism for every purpose was then discovered to be present in the written word. Kembang Padang Kelabu novel uses euphemisms most frequently as a form of protection to hide characters from hurtful words and keep their faces intact.
