Abstract
This study explores the depiction of love in the novel The Love Match through the framework of Sternberg‘s Love Triangular Theory, which identifies three fundamental components of love: intimacy, passion, and commitment. The
research investigates the manifestations of these components within the narrative and their influence on character relationships. Findings reveal three primary types of love represented in the novel: Liking/Friendship between Zahra and Harun, Romantic Love between Zahra and Nayim, and Perfect Love as the culmination of Zahra and Harun‘s relationship. The analysis documented 23 instances of
intimacy, 10 of passion, and 9 of commitment, illustrating the dynamics of love as it evolves through different phases. The study concludes that the progression from friendship to perfect love fosters strong commitment, while romantic love serves to advance Zahra‘s creative endeavors. Overall, the research highlights the intricate interplay of love components and their significant impact on character
development and relational outcomes in The Love Match.
