Abstract

The objective of this study was to develop a module for speaking descriptive text based on project-based learning. This study was carried out at SMAS Cerdas Bangsa. This research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) Method. The research of Research and Development contained six stages; gathering information and data, analyzing data, designing the module, validating by the
experts, revising the module, and the last was the final product. The data was gathered through interviews with the English teacher and distributed questionnaires to students. The data was analyzed to get the students’ needs, wants, lacks, and the teaching-learning process in the classroom. The module was designed based on students’ needs, lack, and wants. In this research, 2 experts validated the product.
The module was revised based on experts' judgment. The final product (module) was developed in the final stages of RnD research. The study's conclusion resulted in the development of the English speaking module, which may be used as a
teaching material for students to learn to speak descriptive text. The project-based learning may be used in the teaching model of the teacher to teach English for descriptive text in the classroom. The product has been validated by two experts in percentage terms, the average score of expert validations was 93% in the content aspect, the presentation aspect was 94%, the language aspect was 93%, and the layout was 95%. The average score was 93.75% which was categorized as very good and it was suggested to use in English class, especially for speaking descriptive text at the Senior High School level.
