Netizens’ comments on an Indonesian News Social Media Platform’ Detikxom’

Netizens are the active internet users who communicate, express opinions, and collaborate on internet media. This study discusses netizens’ comments on an Indonesian News Social Media Platform ‘Detikcom’ on Twitter (X). The purpose of this study is to examine the types of microstrucutres in netizens’ comments about a news on Detikcom, to ilustrate the realization of microstructure ascpets, and to explain the reason for the microstructure aspect realized on the netizens’ comments on Detikcom. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied in this study. The data source is netizen comments on news from Detikcom, taken from the Detikcom Twitter account (X). There are 500 netizens’ comments, with 100 selected comments about the news of Mario Dandy from March 2023 to May 2023. The data were analyzed using Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis framework. The findings show that there are 40% comments in the semantic aspect and 30 % comments in the stylistic aspect, rethoric aspect 20% and syntac 10%. This study focuses on the aspects as part of the microstructure in Critical Discourse Analysis of netizen comments on news from Detikcom. The reasons for the microstructure aspects realized in netizen comments are to depict the types of microstructures on netizens’ comments, to interpret netizen comments, and to involve knowledge in capturing different information about the microstructure aspects as part of the Critical Discourse Analysis.
