Social Solidarity of the Karo Student Association Organization (IMKA) During Open Recruitment at the Faculty of Social Sciences, State University Of Medan

This study aims to find out the activities in the organization of the Karo Student Association (IMKA) at the State University of Medan, trace the efforts of IMKA
members in maintaining social solidarity, and analyze the challenges faced by IMKA members in maintaining social solidarity at the State University of Medan.
The method used in this study is to use a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the IMKA organization has social solidarity through various activities carried out such as mutual cooperation, Merdam- Merdem, cultural performances, landek (dancing) and training of Karo traditional
users. The challenge of IMKA members in maintaining social solidarity is the difference in the level of understanding.
