Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find the optimum learning system in an effort to foster democratic behavior and improving student learning outcomes in chemistry lessons at Senior High School. The research was conducted in SMA N 2, Asahan regency, Nort Sumatera. There are four experiment classes samples. The experiment class I was treated by using STAD Cooperative Learning integrated with computer-base multimedia. The experiment class II was treated by using STAD Cooperative Learning integrated with molymod. The experiment class III was treated by using Direct Instruction Learning integrated with computer-base multimedia, and the experiment class IV was treated by using Direct Instruction Learning integrated with molymod. Student learning outcomes measured by the test instrument. The growth of democratic behavior observed through learning activities using observation sheets. Data were analyzed using twoway ANOVA at significant level α = 0,05.The hypothesis was tested by General Linear Model Multivariate and calculated with SPSS 17. The result of the research showed that : The media learning significantly influence the growth of democratic behavior and improving student learning outcomes. Strategies of learning significantly influence the growth of democratic behavior of students. Strategies of learning and instructional media interact significantly in the growth of democratic behavior and improving student learning outcomes. The interaction between learning strategies of STAD Cooperative learning with computer-based multimedia produce the most optimal learning system in an effort to foster democratic behavior and improving student learning outcomes.
