Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching media for students of 4th Grade at SDN
112280 in teaching English vocabulary. This research was Research and
Development design that has purpose to develop new products and procedures. In
conducting this research, the researcher applied research and development theory
from Gall et al. (2003). There were six stages that researcher employed from this
theory, those stages are gathering information and data, need analysis, designing,
revising, validating, and final product. The data were obtained by conducting an
interview to English teacher and distributing questionnaire to 18 students to
analyze students‟ need. The results of the interview and questionnaire show that
Engllish teacher did not provide and apply English teaching media. In addition,
the students need teaching media to help them in in learning Engllilsh vocabulary.
The digital flashcard and the guide of digital flashcard use were the result of the
final product. Those product had been validated by two experts, namely the
English teacher and lecturer. With the maximum score of validation 125, the score
of product validation given by the first expert was 96 (87%). Then, the second
expert gave a score 99 (90%) which is classified to very good criteria. It also
could be conclude that the media was already appropiate and possible to use as a
teaching media for students.
