Abstract

This study aimed to analyze Teacher’s Strategies in Teaching Reading of
Procedure Text to Grade IX Students of MTs Cerdas Murni. The design of this
research was a descriptive qualitative study. This research was conducted in MTs
Cerdas Murni. The data of this study were the transcripts of the video recording
and the transcripts of the teacher’s interview. The source of data was the
observation of the teaching learning process of procedure text. The Interactive
Analytical Model by Miles & Huberman (1994, p: 10) model was used for data
analysis. The findings revealed that the teacher used three strategies of five steps
of the strategy in teaching reading procedure text in teaching learning process for
IX grade of MTs Cerdas Murni proposed by vacca & vacca (1999), they were
scaffolding, think-aloud, reciprocal teaching, sq3r and qars. The data analysis
showed that how does the teacher use the strategies accordingly in teaching and
learning process, it makes the students to understand the lesson better.-
