Abstract

This research investigated eighth-grade students at SMPN 4 Siabu to understand
their perception of Kahoot in teaching reading comprehension of descriptive texts.
Questionnaires and interviews were utilized to gather data from 25 students. The
method used was Mix Method Research (MMR) for data analysis. The research
findings indicated that 85.6% of students had a personal perception that Kahoot
could motivate them to learn, 78.2% had a situational perception that Kahoot could
activate learning in the classroom, and 91.5% had a social perception that Kahoot's
quality was good. Therefore, the overall results showed that 85.1% of students
believed that Kahoot was a good interactive multimedia tool for teaching
comprehension of descriptive texts. The research discovered that Kahoot provided
engaging animated quizzes that encouraged students to learn reading. Overall, the
study concluded that Kahoot was useful and effective in enhancing reading
comprehension abilities.
