Abstract

This research investigated eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Pulau Rakyat to determine student and teacher perceptions of Roblox reading comprehension class activities. Using questionnaires and interviews, data was collected from 20
students and an English teacher. The method used is Mix Method Research (MMR) to calculate the data. The research results showed that 91,6% of students thought that playing Roblox improved their reading comprehension skills and
from the teacher's perception they stated that playing Roblox was good for reading learning activities. This study found that playing Roblox was effective in encouraging students to improve their reading comprehension skills. The use of moving image animation videos as a medium for playing Roblox also turns out to be easy to understand and makes class activities easier. Overall, this study found that Roblox games are useful and effective for improving students' reading comprehension skills.
