Abstract

This research aims to produce an E-Book product developed using Canva media based on FLIP PDF Professional on biodiversity topic that can be used as additional or alternative media by teachers and students in the learning process carried out in the classroom. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods and uses 4D development model. This development model has stages in this research, namely: Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The data in this research was obtained from validation by several experts, namely, validation by content experts of 86.47% in the "Very Worthy" category, validation by teaching teach learning experts of 96.87% in the "Very Worthy" category, and validation by design experts of 92.23% in the "Very Worthy" category. Then the E-Book product developed was tested on 36 students in class X SMA Negeri 2 Medan. It was also found that the response results given by the biology teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Medan were 100% in the "Good" category, and the overall student response results were 94.39% in the "Good" category. The results of student responses based on the trials carried out were that trials on individuals amounted to 92.42%, trials on small groups amounted to 94.07%, and trials on large groups amounted to 94.39%. The results obtained to determine the effectiveness of the Biodiversity E-Book, which was developed using N-Gain calculations, So the results of the Independent Sample T-Test using N-Gain Score data from the results obtained in class X-12 as the experimental class and class X-5 as a control class show that the N-Gain Score value of students who were taught using the Biodiversity E-Book developed by researchers obtained a result of 67,28 ± 17,89 () ± Sb, significantly having a higher value than the N-Gain Score for students who studied without using the Biodiversity E-Book developed by researchers obtained a result of 49,79 ± 15,03 () ± Sb (t = 4,487 ; P = 0,000).
