Abstract
In the past, there were no gender equality, including the equality of language use, Lakoff and Coates had developed a language feature classification called Women and Men Language Features‖. They have had categorized the linguistic features of "women and men language". Since Women and men tend to use different languages because of their differences in mental conditions and behavior and so there must be a differences in the language that they used because they have
different state of mental stabilities and behaviors. The objective of this study is to identify language features –based gender and to examine the factors that affect the main character's use different language features and also to study the use of certain language features in the film Purple Heart. This study used Lakoff and Coates theory of Men and Woman language features as a main theory, this research used qualitative research method, using the non-participating observation technique, and the method of reference identification is selected to analyze the data. Observation and documentary techniques were used to collect data from the movie script itself. The findings demonstrated that the classification of language features by Lakoff and Coates is no longer applicable in the current context, as
women are now able to express their true identities through language, and men are no longer concerned about coming across as weak or even damaging their reputation by employing the language features of women in their speech.
According to the study's findings, language used by both men and women should be categorized as powerless language because it has characteristics that are used by a large number of people who are neither displaying power nor being
powerless. In addition, factors other than gender can affect how people produce and use their speech, including social class, ethnicity, race, and even age.
