Abstract
Learning styles are individual characteristics and preferred ways of collecting, organizing and thinking about information. The aims of this study were to investigate the type of learning style used by the students in learning English speaking at SMA Swasta PAB 4 Sampali, to find out how the teacher accommodate the differences of students learning styles in learning English speaking. In this research the researcher used VAK theory by Fleming (2001). This research used descriptive- qualitative design. The subject and object of this study was 30 students of IPS-1 grade eleventh and one English teacher at SMA Swasta PAB 4 Sampali. The instruments of this study were observation, questionnaire and interview. The findings of this study revealed that (1) the VAK learning styles that had been found in the classroom were Visual learning style 10 students, Auditory learning style 7 students and Kinesthetic learning style 13 students. The type of learning style used
and most liked by the students in IPS-1 is Khinesthetic. (2) To accommodate the differences of students’ learning style in learning English speaking the teacher combined theree learning style in one learning process, showed the video as a visual, explaination as a auditory and let the students practice actively English speaking as kinesthetic.
