Abstract

This research aims to identify the significant influence before and after implementing the Make A Match type and STAD type cooperative learning models on students' mathematical problem solving abilities as well as to observe significant differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities when using the Make A Match type cooperative learning model and the learning model. STAD type cooperative at MTs Yaspi Labuhan Deli. The research population of 4 classes of class VIII. The sampling technique used purposive sampling,namely class VIII-D as experimental class 1 and class VIII-C as experimental class 2. Data analysis was carried out using the t-Test using the Paired Sample t-Test and Independent Sample t-Test techniques. research results show that: Based on testing hypothesis 1, it was found that the value of tcount (21.305) > ttable (1.699127), then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so there was a significant influence before and after the implementation of the Make A Match type cooperative learning model on tudents'mathematical problem solving abilities; testing hypothesis 2 obtained a value of tcount (18.855) > t-table (1.699127) then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so there was a significant influence before and after the implementation of the STAD type cooperative learning model on students' athematical problem solving abilities; testing hypothesis 3 obtained a value of tcount (3.964) > t-table (1.671553), then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so there was a significant difference in students' mathematical problem solving abilities when using the Make A Match type cooperative learning.
