Abstract

The purpose of this research is To determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model based on lesson study with interactive PowerPoint. The population in this study were all students of the class of XI IPA SMAN 1 Tanah Pinem. The sample taken using simple random sampling were selected to get 2 class, the experiment class (35 students), and the experiment class I (35 students). This study design was a natural experiment with pretest-posttest control group design forms.
It was found that, the average student learning outcomes before the experiment class I was 27.13 while in the experiment class II it was 23.75. After post-test, the experiment class score was 85.25 and critical thinking ability was 58.89, while the experiment class I score was 78.25 and critical thinking skills was 51.80. The results were obtained rcount > rtable (0.875 > 0.312) in the experiment class and rcount > rtable (0.701 > 0.312) in the experiment class I, it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between student learning outcomes and students' critical thinking skills with the model PBL integrated with PowerPoint interactive media
