Abstract

Lack of student interest in the physics learning process, low student learning outcomes, and student errors in understanding physics concepts at SMA Negeri 2 Medan. Previous research has shown that using Google Sites as a medium for learning physics can improve student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to improve Google Sites-based physics learning media on thermodynamics material at SMA Negeri 2. Medan. This research uses a quasi-experimental research type with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data analysis was carried out through validation tests, statistical analysis requirements tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis testing using statistical t-tests, and processing of research data. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 2 Medan. 0.000< 0.05 on student learning outcomes on thermodynamic material. Student learning outcomes in the experimental class that used Google Sites learning media showed a greater increase compared to the control class that did not use the media. In addition, student responses to the use of Google Sites learning media were also positive, with a high level of interest. The results of this study are also supported by previous research which shows that there is a significant effect of using Google Sites on student learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be concluded that Google Sites learning media can be an effective alternative in improving student learning outcomes. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the use of Google Sites as a learning medium in the eyeglass learning process is very helpful for students. The average student response to using Google Sites is 4.02 with an attractiveness category of 80.55%. Therefore, this learning media can be used as an effective alternative to learning physics.
